Schedule Change

What Visual Supports can be used for a change in schedule?

A "change" icon is added to an activity icon on the Across-Task Schedule to provide the student with autism a clear and simple method of determining what activity is being changed. The student removes the "change" icon with the activity icon attached and takes it to the Schedule Change Check-In Station (shown below).

A Schedule Change Check-In Station combines a Check-In Station (the yellow portion on the left side of the picture above) with a mini Across-Task Schedule (the green portion on the right side of the picture above). The icon on the mini Across-Task Schedule portion of the Schedule Change Check-In Station identifies the replacement activity. For the new activity, Picture Day, a Within-Task Schedule is also provided to identify the steps required to complete the new activity.
